Overview

The moral and ethical principles and observances for oneself and the community (Yamas and Niyamas) would have to be always present, both in thought and action, as the student tackles a physically, and a lot of times, emotionally challenging yoga journey. He could not just live by knowing the theoretical aspects of the practice. Yoga is a practical discipline. It becomes more meaningful if we practise the drills and techniques together with the theory of yoga.

A safe and meaningful exploration of the higher functions of the breath and later on, controlling the flow of it depend on our ability to sustain and manage the pressure we would have to face once the advanced breath regulation and meditation practice begin. If the body is weak and blocked, doing these observances could hurt the student. If the path to awakening the primal energy of the Kundalini is the long-term goal, then it would be much more challenging. Definitely, with the guidance of a spiritual teacher, the student could assess and decide how far he wants to explore. Nevertheless, the pupil needs a solid foundation to start the process.

Strong foundation goes beyond muscular/physical exercise. It encompasses a holistic approach which includes aligning the body parts, finding a safe and effective range of movement, timing, regularity, and choice of poses/routine and progression.

Our bodies develop the fastest during the first year of the practice. We achieved most of our gains within the first three months. Inspired by my practice, I will prepare you holistically, lead you through techniques of developing strength and breath awareness. There’s a few theoretical learning and monitoring as well.

This course is equivalent to 50 hours of Teacher Training which count if you decide to take the full YTT-200 course later on ( Yoga Teacher Training 200 hours).

Self-Practice for Developing the Energetic Body

The Bandhas, when applied as temporary seals, shall provide an abundant and potent force to flow out once they are released. In this perspective, they are high-energy producing elements.

During the pranayama, the bandhas direct the breath in cleansing the deep energetic channels called nadis as well as stimulate the chakras of the astral system during meditation.

There is a more individualised teaching approach for this course. The lessons are provided depending on the starting level as well as the frequency and duration of the practice. This is an intermediate course which requires a steady practice of yoga asana and pranayama.
