The Practical Foundation of Hatha Yoga
It’s fascinating how simply regulating the flow of the breath can open different layers of our consciousness; from a very active, dynamic physical state to something quiet, subtle, almost as if we are barely there at all.
My teachings are inspired by this is the ultimate place – sukha or happy. Hatha yoga is designed with great care. That is why it is important to follow it as it is laid out, without rushing ahead. When the foundation is steady, the practices unfold in us naturally. Personally, I even didnt plan meditation, I just found myself in it one day and everything unfolded from that natural calling.
As the physical body develops, the breath grows too. The first is the natural breath – effortless breathing that sustains life. It is already happening. Yet even this natural breath is influenced by how we live: our diet, our rest, our recovery, and how we handle stress. These things are obvious, almost intuitive, and yet they are often overlooked. Even this very practical principle is laid down in Hatha Yoga (watch this related lesson).
When we begin by respecting this foundation, everything else in the practice becomes more meaningful and more powerful.
I have crafted the following lessons / classes to help you grow you breathing practice as well.
