The Tongue and Energy

Tongue exercises are crucial in advanced hatha yoga. They involve specific tongue positions to channel the energy, aiding in balancing and activating the body’s energy flow, especially in the brain. I have personally experienced how the tongue can enhance physical and energetic well-being, making it a potent tool for meditation by awakening dormant centres in the brain.

The tongue is associated with the sense of taste, and by exercising the tongue through the techniques outlined in this lesson, the functions of the organs associated with the svadhisthana chakra (sacrolumbar) are increased. These include the urogenital, digestive and eliminating organs. A healthy flow in the svadhisthana chakra fosters mental and emotional balance.
