There Is No Quick Fix

One can’t start meditation immediately. Hatha yoga initially focuses on building a solid foundation, step by step, for our safety and efficacy. These techniques are meant to dissolve the body’s inertia and laziness. It paves the way for cleansing our physical energy paths (nadis). The cleansing period is about two years if we practice hatha yoga daily. We must stay focused and not be swayed by quick fixes or immediate rewards. There are no shortcuts in Hatha Yoga. When the teacher instructs you to sit and keep your spine straight, do it with all your best effort. The goal is to strengthen your hips and core muscles. These preparatory practices must be mastered first before one can effectively control the mind.
